
Kathryne Genevieve Honey (she/they) is a Melbourne-based curator and writer working on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri people. She recently completed a Master of Arts with First Class Honours at the University of Melbourne, with a thesis exploring love-centred curatorial strategies as a vehicle for institutional change.
Kathryne has held curatorial and leadership roles across some of Australia’s most significant contemporary art organisations. As Assistant Curator at ACCA, where she worked on Paul Yore: WORD MADE FLESH, Mithu Sen: mOTHERTONGUE, and the 2022 Macfarlane Commissions; General Manager at un Projects, collaborating with editors Snack Syndicate, D Harding, and Hilary Thurlow; and Co-Director of Bus Projects, where she worked with artists including Lou Hubbard, Lindy Lee, Katie West, and Moorina Bonini. Earlier in her career she worked as Development Coordinator at Chisenhale Gallery, London, supporting exhibitions by Wolfgang Tillmans, Eddie Peake, and Rosalind Nashashibi. And as Gallery Manager at Sutton Gallery, where she worked alongside Gordon Bennett, Helen Johnson, and Nicholas Mangan.
Her curatorial projects have been exhibited locally and internationally, most recently Air Means Water at CAVES, with co-curators Syaza Nisrina, Nadhila Iffa Zakira, as well as at Haydens gallery, Bus Projects, Frieze London, LA Contemporary, and Ho Biennale. She sits on the boards of CAVES and Runway Journal, and writes regularly for publications including fine print, Art Collector, and Art Link.
